Point Marking

Point Marking creates a collection of locations. Each point can contain a name, coordinates, sample time, available accuracy and altitude, notes, and photo or video attachments.

Steps

  1. Select Point Marking on Home.
  2. Pan the map until the crosshair is over a target and tap Mark Crosshair Position, or wait for a location fix and tap Mark My Location.
  3. Repeat to add more points.
  4. Tap a point to verify its coordinates and edit its name, note, or attachments.
  5. Tap the save icon in the upper-right corner, name the collection, and save it.

Point details

From the point detail screen, you can:

  • Copy the displayed coordinate or select another copy format.
  • Open the location in a supported map app.
  • Add an image or video through the system Photos picker, or take a photo.
  • Edit the note.
  • Delete the point.

A crosshair point has no device location accuracy or altitude. A “My Location” point records those fields only when iOS provides valid values.

Edit and clear

Open a saved collection from Data → Point Marking. Choose Edit from the upper-right menu; saving again updates the original record. “Clear All” removes all points from the current edit after confirmation.

Export

A saved collection can be exported as GeoJSON, GPX, KML, CSV, WKT, or a GPS Toolbox package. Use GPS Toolbox format when notes and media attachments must be retained completely.

Location and sensor readings are for reference only. Always assess your surroundings.
