Home & Current Location
The card at the top of Home shows current positioning status. All feature entry points appear below it.
Reading the location card
- GPS signal: Displays Strong, Good, Fair, Searching, or Unavailable based on horizontal accuracy.
- Latitude / Longitude: Uses the display system selected under More → Coordinate System.
- Altitude: Comes from system location services and may be unavailable when vertical accuracy is invalid.
- Accuracy: The system’s estimate of horizontal uncertainty, not a guarantee of absolute error.
Tap the coordinate area to use the available copy actions. Before copying or exporting, confirm that the selected coordinate system matches the recipient’s requirements.
Location keeps searching
- Make sure system Location Services are on.
- Confirm that GPS Toolbox has While Using the App or Always access.
- Move outdoors or near a window and avoid tall buildings, tunnels, basements, and metal obstructions.
- Wait for the accuracy value to stabilize before taking a sample.
If access was denied, Home displays “Open Settings.” Tap it, grant access in Settings, and return to the app.
Coordinate display
The app stores raw location values in WGS84 and derives display coordinates from your setting. In mainland China, map geometry may use offsets required by the map service. This does not overwrite the stored WGS84 source data.
Available display systems:
- WGS84: Standard GPS coordinates used by most international geospatial data.
- GCJ-02: Commonly used by online maps in mainland China.
- BD-09: The Baidu Maps coordinate system.
TIP
Always include the coordinate system when sharing coordinates. Latitude and longitude without a coordinate-system label can lead to substantial positional offsets.
