Track Following
Track Following compares your current location with a saved route and shows progress, followed distance, remaining distance, completion percentage, elapsed time, and off-route distance.
Steps
- First save a track with at least two points using Track Recording.
- Select Follow Track on Home.
- Choose a saved track.
- When you are near the route, tap Start Following.
- The app matches your location to the nearest sampled track point and updates progress.
- If you pan the map, tap Refocus to resume camera following.
- Tap Altitude Chart to view the route profile and altitude at the matched point.
- Pause or resume at any time. The state becomes Finished at the final point.
Off-route warning
The screen shows the distance from your location to the nearest sampled track point. A warning appears above 50 meters; beyond roughly 100 meters, the app may be unable to match current progress. Sparse sampling, GPS drift, and route changes can also affect the result.
Restore and exit
Exiting while active or paused requires confirmation. The app saves a local recovery draft. Restored sessions remain paused so you can verify your surroundings before continuing.
WARNING
This feature estimates progress from saved track points. It does not assess road access, traffic rules, weather, or hazardous areas. Follow local signs and use professional offline navigation and rescue tools where appropriate.
