Speedometer

The Speedometer displays the current speed estimated by iOS location services and lets you save a location, speed, and accuracy at a specific moment.

Steps

1. Select Speed on Home.
2. Move steadily in an open area and wait for a current speed.
3. Tap Mark Current to save a speed sample.
4. Add more samples to update the minimum and maximum speed.
5. Tap a sample to view its speed, speed accuracy, coordinates, note, and attachments.
6. Tap save in the upper-right corner and enter a name.

Units

Under More → Units → Speed Units, choose:

• Metric: km/h or m/s.
• Imperial: mph.
• Aviation/Marine: knot.

Limitations

Speed is a Core Location estimate, not a vehicle instrument or certified speed measurement. Low speed, stationary use, GPS drift, tunnels, tall buildings, and system power policies can cause delays or abnormal values. Do not operate the phone while driving.
